Why is my car constantly making a grinding noise?

Idell Syed: Sounds like your brakes are grinding, you answered your own question. Get it to a reputable repair facility asap.

Carmelina Enoch: You need new brakes!

Kaylee Schmittou: Wheel bearing sounds to be it and don't go with the louder radio to drown the sound... its not a fix, just a band-aid and I hope you wouldn't do that to drown out loud engine knock or severe brake grinding... also check for any abnormal wear of the tire tread... You said the pads have plenty of meat, but compare to the other side for faster wearing & that would suggest stuck/sticking caliper/damaged brake hose...

Azalee Ahrendes: Sounds like brakes grinding, get them checked soon....

Douglass Sarley: Thank you all for answering, I appreciate it, but can anyone tell me why I still hear this spinning, squeaking noise even while I'm driving?

Lana Uliano: stop driving it and get it to a mechanic to get the brakes checked......the fact that they are grinding tells me t! hat there is metal to metal contact.....this can cause catastrophic brake failure which usually happens when you need them most causing an accident.......don't ignore sounds your car makes or drown them out by turning up the radio......your car is making a noise to tell you something is wrong...get it looked at before you have an accident!!!!! good luck!!

Zulema Baccam: if your hearing a constant grinding noise the brake pads probably have eaten in to the rotors on it,have them checked and repaired before they fail, when that happens your going to hurt someone including your self, good luck.

Chastity Doderer: Most likely brakes, usually the early warning sensor noise is ignored. If you have disc brakes you can usually get a decent look through the wheel on the outside, but sometimes calipers wear and the inside pad is worn down to nothing. I just replaced all 4 calipers and brake pads on my 04 honda accord. Got a great deal on ebay ~
