Offline Magazines?

Jude Kennelly: I am editor of a B2B magazine in Texas.I'm not going to drone on and on about what one is better than another but I can tell you a couple things to keep in mind.First is the magazine audited? Ask the salesperson that question. This means a 3rd party company verify's that the circulation goes to the amount of people that they claim. Trust me on this. Non-audited pubs lie consistently and will try and quote non-verified audience figures. PR agency's and top advertisers will not spend a dime on non-audited mags... so why should you?Don't be fooled by who's IN the mag. Many mags run free ads to make them appear like they have a well known client base. That's why they run them for free. Finally content is everything. Are they a "cover to cover" read? We see many lifestyle mags in print. Who reads these? What do they read? Most are nothing except pictures about local celebs. How many people pick one of these up and read the whole thing? Not many. So watch where yo! u place your money. Demographics are everything... but so are real numbers... going to people who WANT the magazine....Show more

Nestor Klan: The best magazine will be the magazine that your target market actually use.If you are targeting small business owners, then Inc Magazine and Entrepreneur Magazines are best.If you are targeting online/ecommerce retailers, then Internet Retailer magazine will be the bestIf you are targeting women, then Redbook, Working Mothers, Ladies Home Journal are among the magazines where you can advertiseThere are so many choices out there. Where you advertise should be determined where your target audiences are. If you are trying to reach upper income men, you won't advertise in Glamour but in Esquire....Show more
