Cecil Derenzi: Use a communicative approach, that is get them talking in English. Their level dictates exactly what you can have them doing. Check out "eslcafe.com" if you want teaching ideas.
Talisha Digrande: It's essentially the same. Will you teach in a school using a standard coursebook? Regardless, you will first find out what they know and what they need to know and then teach it. In principle, the same as with kids!
Venetta Coulbourne: I am teaching English to adults and I love it. Remember that people learn in different ways- using their senses, for example some learn by visual, some by listening, some by touching/doing etc. Try to use materials and techniques that appeal to the senses. Use authentic material- news articles. Use stories, relevant topicsas you suggested and lots of roleplay. Also do lots of activities as students (any age) love these. In every lesson aim for the 4 skills of reading, writing, speaking and listening. Check out some lesso! n plans online. Have fun....Show more
