How do I control aphids in my garden??

Sol Allphin: Lady bugs or lady birds as they are called :)

Lia Argall: you can order ladybugs online. you set them free in your garden and they eat the aphids.

Chadwick Schmelz: I live in Southern California by the way and the soil I planted it in is very moist.

Jonathan Schlussel: I'd be a little leary of six inches of gravel and fabric in the bottom of my asparagus bed. Asparagus can send roots down four to six feet deep. If your compost is complete, you can set the crowns right in it without mixing it with anything. If it is barnyard manure, put a layer in the bottom of the trench and another couple of inches of regular soil on top of it for the bed.

Delmer Pectol: If you want to become more appealing for a woman you will need this book https://tr.im/55pzy , The Tao of Badass which may “convert you” in to a person who attracts all of the women. The Tao of Badass is a famous step-by-step system for picking up girls that is demonstrated to! work for anyone. Marti Declue: Here are three separate answers.1) Buy some ladybirds.2) Boil up some cigarettte butts thus dissolving the nicotine. Spray.3) Use water at 50 degrees centigrade, not more.

Fritz Hawkey: Oh good lord, DON'T remove it. that is the root. Just flip it over and bury it until about half an inch of the top of the seed is exposed. Put it in at least a 1 gallon pot though, they grow fast and need to get a good root system going while they are young. One thing to keep in mind is that if it is a Haas seed, say, you won't get Haas if it ever bears. It will take a few years to get ! fruit also. And DON't top it out while it's young.

Chris! Wilczewski: I am going to be spreading 7 yards of mulch for $200 and I am trying to figure out if that means I have to edge around everything also? The guy that is paying me never mentioned edging but said mulch around the trees, flower beds. etcI don't really want to ask because then he will want that done without paying extra and I hate edging anyways. But I need the money and dont want to lose the job. What should I do?...Show more

Jesusita Dykhoff: Im assuming you do no longer stay someplace the place avocados strengthen, as they're somewhat considerable and coffee priced in places like california or florida. you're no longer any doupt out of success, yet once you're taking 4 toothpicks and an avodado pit and a pint glass, you are able to start up off your man or woman little avocado plant on any sunny window sill. only situate the pit so as that the ingredient is directed downward, insert the strategies some million/4 inch deep around the equator of the pit calml! y(to no longer person-friendly). so which you finally end up with an avocado pit with 4 toothpicks at 12, 3, 6, and 9 o'clock while considered from above. Set your avocado contraption pit ingredient down upon your pint glass so the strategies relax on the rim of the glass postponing the pit a million/2 in a million/2 out of the glass. Fill with water set on window sill suitable off dayly and in each week or 2 it relatively is going to strengthen an excellent faucet root. intently transplant into greater advantageous field....Show more

Dewey Heersink: Try get some ladybirds. They love eating alphids, it's what farmers do these days.

Frederick Mccoach: Definatley edge first, i just did it a few weeks a go and it looks great, and just a tip remember, you should not let the mulch touch the plant.

Idell Mulliniks: Hmmm, maybe I'll skip the gravel and fabric and just dig up about 6" at the bottom of the trench.

Mayola Sylva: bite the head off one the other! ones will go away

Alden Soldano: I have it in a sunny window fac! ing south and west.

Tory Clapper: You can purchase spray at your local home improvement store for aphids.

Kizzy Hett: I planted it in some potting soil with the little white shoot up- but I realize now that may actually be a root and I have no idea what I'm doing. Any tips? The sprout is about 2/3 of an inch long. Thanks!

Rayford Latz: I actually have hiking/shrub roses that get aphids each spring, each year the sparrows nest close by and take each of the aphids to feed their youthful. I actually have in no way yet used chemical compounds to eliminate aphids. Nature is surprising.

Vernita Robberson: Just do your mulching if he wants you to edge there is time to discuss it later. It wont look much different anyway . Generally you only edge along a sidewalk or drive way. _Mulch is only ground up wood so you can apply it right up against a tree trunk.. I would rake it even when you are through.

Tana Dumoulin: I'm going to add six inches of gravel ! to the bottom of the trench for drainage and then cover that with weed block fabric and go from there.I'm preparing for early April planting of one year old crowns in the North east. Jersey giants, I think.

Peter Lapoint: If you can grow rhubarb then just boil the leaves up in water and the spray the plant that is infested. Works great

Ollie Desalvo: The best and safest remedy is to release ladybugs in your garden. It works. I have bought them at Lowes and Home Depot. anytime we can avoid pesticides we should.

Von Houskeeper: Aphids suck the juice out of the new growth of plants . They're usually in clusters near the tips . Because they stick their sucking tube into the center of the new growth , poison doesn't effect them . A nicotene spray will burn their bodies .

Elli Esaw: Ladybugs! praying mantisalso spray with a mixture of soapy water solution

Donald Caravalho: Get some ants.

Michelle Sohre: It probably is the root so remove it and ! replant sideways. If it is root it will grow down, if it's shoot it wil! l grow up. They are very easy to grow so keep the soil reasonably moist without being wet. Feed it now and again and when it has grown to about 12cm cut it back to the lowest leaf bud, that will prevent it from being too leggy.

Ariel Arons: I heard to use some mild dishwashing soap with warm water...Like Ivory or Dove .Good luck...Thanks to the others I never heard of Lady bugs before///Interesting.

Rebbecca Sorkin: Try planting shrubs and plants that will attract ladybugs (that feed on aphids). There are also some companies that sell ladybugs and will tell you how to make them stay in your garden once you let them go (ie: let them out at night because they'll go to sleep and when the wake up in the morning, they'll already be used to the area, etc.).

Jeannetta Gaffigan: Wash 'em off with dishwater. It's the dish soap that does the trick. And it's biodegradable. You can import lady bugs, but they might just fly away home.

Germaine Tieken: The trench! faces south west, is seventeen feet long by fifteen inches wide and twenty four inches deep. The soil taken out was mostly clay and rock.

Bob Nakamoto: The best and least expensive way to get rid of them is with dishwashing soap mixed with warm water. Put the solution, about 2 tbs. soap and 16oz warm water in a spray bottle, Make sure you spray under the leaves where they love to hide. I tried the lady bugs, they hung around for a day and then I never saw them again.
